Hunter and Asley's wedding at Cherokee Creek Farms in Jonesborough, TN could not have been more perfect! If East Tennessee Octobers had a specific day for peak color, optimal temperature and gorgeous skies, then it would have been October 21. It had been a little chilly and rainy leading up, so the morning of when the sun came out, we knew it was meant to be.
I had the privilege of photographing Hunter and Asley three different times for their engagement photos and Hunter's bridal portraits. We had one session at their venue location, Cherokee Creek Farms and then another session at Round Bald at Carvers Gap in Roan Mountain, NC. Hunter's bridal portraits were also done at the farm. So when their wedding day came, they felt like family. Hunter and Asley both added so many meaningful, unique touches to their wedding day. It honestly was my absolute favorite. Their day started by waking up at the charming, 1830's historic farmhouse at Cherokee Creek Farms. Hunter and her bridal party started their hair and makeup. Asley and guys lined up for the barber's chair by the fireplace for their fresh trims and shaves. The girls shared a scrapbook they had made and opened their bridesmaid gifts which included a custom clutch bag with photos inside. Brandon, the best lad of honor any bride could want, steamed the dresses and prepped the details. The guys answered life's deepest questions during their haircuts with Common People Barber Co. "Who would you send to represent us as earth if aliens showed up?"
While documenting the bride and groom getting ready, I also walked around the venue photographing their details. One of many of my favorite details were signed LP's from 49 Winchester that acted as a guest book, accompanied by a audio guest book. This was such a cool touch that represented one of their favorite things as a couple. Table numbers were in the form of 45 records. A handmade backdrop of records also made the perfect photo op spot. Speaking of photo op, we cannot forget the "All Your'n" sign surrounded by balloons. Custom cocktails, detail after detail perfectly tied in together and the love of this couple.
Hunter wanted a first look with her bridal party and then her father, but wanted to save her and Asley's first look for walking down the aisle. That decision did not disappoint! If a bride has in mind a certain reaction for their first look, Asley nailed it! I know I was in tears! Their ceremony was filled with laughter, sincerity, passion, tears, and SO MUCH love. One thing I truly love about this couple is their love for each other. It is so apparent in their words and in their actions how much love and respect is in this relationship. After the ceremony, we walked around the property for some couple photos before their grand entrance.
Their grand entrance definitely set the bar for how the rest of the night would go. I have never seen as many people on the dance floor. They were having a blast.
Congratulations, Hunter & Asley! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day.
