A Perfect Fall Wedding at Cherokee Creek Farm: Kylie & David’s Big Day
When I look back on October 24, 2024, Kylie and David's wedding day, one word stands out: perfect. Cherokee Creek Farm in Jonesborough, TN, set the scene for a beautiful celebration as they began their life together. This venue, with its rustic charm, scenic mountain views, and rich history, offered the most incredible backdrop for a day filled with warmth, love, and the magic of fall.
The weather could not have been better. Warm with a gentle breeze, the fall colors were at their peak, as though nature itself wanted to honor Kylie and David’s union. They’d rented the venue for a few days, giving them and their wedding party a chance to fully soak in the experience. When I arrived, the girls were already getting ready, setting a scene that felt both fun and effortlessly relaxed. Kylie, with her natural warmth and sweet demeanor, set the tone for the day—a mix of excitement and serenity.
Kylie and David had fallen in love with Cherokee Creek Farm, both for its beauty and its proximity to where they’d soon be starting their life as a married couple. Though their family had traveled from afar, each detail was chosen with intention, reflecting the couple’s journey and the love that brought them here. They picked a neutral base with vibrant pops of fall colors, blending perfectly with the landscape. The ceremony would be held in the garden, cocktail hour under a magnificent pecan tree, and the reception in the barn—a layout that made every moment feel special.
As the bridesmaids, filled with joy and excitement, got their hair and makeup done, the flower girls arrived and instantly stole the show. Capturing these little moments, the sweet chaos of friends and family getting ready, and the details in Kylie’s radiant look—including her elegant single pearl necklace—was a joy. It was soon time for the first looks, moments that carried an extra layer of emotion as Kylie’s father and grandfathers saw her in her dress for the first time. This year had been a difficult one for her family, marked by loss, and these moments of connection and support were incredibly moving.
With golden light filling the space, Kylie looked breathtaking as we captured her bridal portraits and photos with her bridesmaids. Every shot reflected the love and excitement surrounding her. She shared a special first look with her groomsmen, adding a fun twist with a shared shot of Fireball to mark the occasion. Kylie had thoughtfully carved out extra time for bridal portraits, and with the autumn light dancing through the leaves, each frame felt like a painting.
Guests were greeted with a warm, welcoming table that included a Polaroid camera to capture their own memories as they entered the garden for the ceremony. As Kylie walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to meet David, emotions ran high. Their vows were intimate and heartfelt, filling the garden with so much love that there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Following the ceremony, we wandered through the garden, capturing moments around the historic house and courtyard, and every setting seemed to reflect the joy of the day.
Kylie and David surprised everyone with a carefully choreographed first dance, an impressive and fun highlight that everyone loved. Kylie then shared a deeply emotional dance with her father, followed by David’s dance with his mother, each moment reinforcing the strong family bonds at the heart of this celebration.
As the sun set, we stole a few moments away for golden hour photos, jumping onto a 4x4 to head up the hill with a breathtaking mountain view and the gentle presence of cows grazing nearby. These shots, with the golden light casting a warm glow over them, were simply magical.
