Cherokee Creek Farm | Heather & Tyler New Year's Day Wedding

"A new year, a new beginning with our new family" - Heather and Tyler joined hands and said "I Do" on January 1, 2024 at Cherokee Creek Farm in Jonesborough, TN. If anyone deserved a perfect and blessed wedding day, it was this couple and their beautiful family. They both had shared hardships over the last year or so and were both ready for a fresh start and a new chance at happiness.

Their wedding was a small, intimate wedding focused on family. When I spoke to her before her wedding day, she made sure to let me know that their family was the most important thing to them. I told them that this day would not just be about them, but their family becoming one as well.

Heather started the day getting her hair and makeup done and helping her girl's get ready. They were so excited about having their hair and makeup done, dressing up in pretty dresses.

She opted for a first look with Tyler. This was their moment. We made it special and continued with the couple portraits afterwards so we could focus on them as a family after their ceremony. It was a cold, winter day. We took a few photos outside but quickly retreated back inside the historic farmhouse to sit by the fire. There we had a few more intimate moments cuddling by the fire. Tyler then had a special moment with his daughters giving them the rings to carry down the aisle.

It was then time for the walk down the aisle. There was not a dry face in the barn. Their family had watched them go through some of the most difficult times in each of their lives, then they found hope and happiness when they found each other. This family was ready for their happy ending. They bowed their heads to pray.

I now pronounce you husband and wife....we stayed in the barn to take a few more photos together as a family with their daughters and son. They shared their first dance, "That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you." This was such a sweet moment to capture. We had a quiet dinner while they went around and thanked each guest for sharing this New Year's Day memory with them.

My favorite part was their exit. I had an idea and knew the kids would get a kick out of this. We had the family as whole run through the guests into the cold sparklers.

I am sending so much love and blessings out to this family.
